The Story Behind Kismet
This started with one trip that changed everything.
How Kismet Began
Not manufactured. Not forced.
In 2023, Savanah took a safari she describes simply as life-changing. She came home and rearranged her life around it — spending nearly a third of every year in South Africa, building meaningful relationships with lodges, guides, and local partners that can’t be manufactured through a booking platform.
What began as one unforgettable journey has grown into five retreats across three countries, and a community of guests who keep returning — often bringing friends along with them. Just kismet.
Meet Savanah
A therapist first. A guide second. Both, always.
Savanah is a Marriage & Family Therapist, trained in EFT, IFS, and EMDR. That training shapes every part of how Kismet trips are built — the pacing of a day, the way a group is given room to actually connect, the quiet thread of reflection woven into an adventure trip without turning it into group therapy.
She built Kismet on a simple idea: adventure and depth aren’t opposites. The right trip can hold both.
Our Philosophy
Every Kismet experience is built on three connections.
I.
Self
Space to slow down, notice what’s true, and hear your own voice above the noise.
II.
Others
Ten strangers become a group, and a group becomes friendship that outlasts the trip.
III.
Nature
The kind of wild beauty that resets your nervous system without you trying.
Our Approach
Curated, not outsourced.
Kismet partners exclusively with trusted lodges, certified guides, and local operators who share a real commitment to ethical, responsible eco-tourism. Every detail is chosen deliberately, not pulled from a generic itinerary template. Groups stay small — never more than ten — so the experience stays personal rather than logistical.
